- Diagnosis
- Ultimate branches generally 3–8 mm wide with leaves up to 6 mm long and 3 mm wide, with inwardly bending tip; leaves commonly contain seven to eight parallel veins with uniseriate bundle sheaths. Secondary xylem tracheids commonly 11–22 mm in diameter with uniseriate circular bordered pits; rays uniseriate, one to three cells high with large, simple cross field pits. Ground tissues of pith, cortex and leaves contain nests of sclereids. Well developed periderm interior to leaf bases of penultimate branches.
