- Diagnosis
- Stem oval in transverse section, approximately 14 mm. X 9 mm., a five lobed actinostele consisting of a pentarch network of small tracheal cells surrounded by much larger metaxylem cells. Cortex consisting of a narrow inner zone of thick walled resinous cells and a broad outer zone of thin-walled parenchyma; numerous aphlebiae; surface of plant glabrous. Phyllophore of the Etapteris (Ankyropteris) di-upsilon type. Axillary branch stele arising from the stem approximately 8 mm. to 1 cm. above the departure of the phyllophore trace.
